Abstract

This article is devoted to the specifics of selecting empirical material for polyparadigm analysis of French common youth argot. Argotic vocabulary can be analyzed by following such directions as lexicological, linguostylistic and experimental, that notably is used in field studies. The specificity of the linguistic facts collection determines the scientific novelty of microsociolinguistic research, which is manifested in the convergence of specified directions of argotic fund study and in the multistage treatment of argotographic data, including collaborative digital dictionaries, oral linguistic corpuses and argoticisms incorporated into literary and Internet texts. Special attention is paid to describing the inventory of core and peripheral argotisms. Selected argotic units have been verified through a questionnaire survey of informants.  The frequency parameter of non-conventional lexemes has also been applied for the literary text to validate the obtained data. Argotography and field experiments are an impulse for the web mapping of systematized argotisms. This research presents the first results of preparatory work on the creation of argotological maps. In the future, the use of web maps as support material will make it possible to create an interactive online dictionary of French common youth argot, equipped with a valuable material illustrating the features of the vast and varied lexical periphery of the national language.
