Abstract
The subject of the article is the peculiarities of New Ukrainisms as a special group, different from other borrowings from the Ukrainian language. The corpus of new Ukrainisms consists of units with a set of specific common features, the formation of which was influenced by the conditions of appearance, goals and methods of use. Such characteristics include: the time of appearance (the events in Ukraine in 2013−2014 and the next few years), the speed of formation of this group of borrowings, penetration channels (Internet communication), the presence of stylistic as well as evaluative (negative) connotations due to the ideological and political attitudes of the speakers. The changes in semantics, that occur during borrowing, are not spontaneous, random, but on the contrary, regular, typical. At the initial stage, such units could be assessed as mostly occasional, but very quickly they began to acquire properties that allow them to be allocated to a special group. The changes observed in this group over the past few years have affected some aspects of their functioning in the language, which, for example, manifests itself at the level of frequency and regularity of the use of individual units. Currently, the replenishment of the group is limited. The processes of morphological and graphic adaptation have led to19 greater uniformity of borrowings.
