ON THE FUNCTIONING OF THE CRIMEAN TATAR LANGUAGE IN THE REPUBLIC OF CRIMEA

Annotation
The purpose of this study was to systematize theoretical and statistical data on the functioning of the Crimean Tatar language in the Republic of Crimea. The paper used the methods of description, observation and questionnaires. The subject of the research is the Crimean Tatar language, the object of the research is the language situation in the Republic of Crimea. The Crimean Tatar language is not only the official language of the Republic of Crimea, but at the same time it is the language of the locality of the compact residence of the Crimean Tatar population, formed as a result of complex ethnogenetic and migration processes on the territory of the Crimean peninsula, as well as the language of Crimean Tatars, who are citizens of the Russian Federation and are inalienable link of the Russian society. The article discusses the current problems of the linguistic situation and language policy in Crimea, issues of linguistic and cultural rehabilitation of the Crimean Tatar language. The quantitative characteristics of the language situation in the Republic of Crimea, the language power of the most common languages: Russian and Crimean Tatar languages are described. So, the quantitative signs of the linguistic situation in Crimea are as follows: a) it is multicomponent, that is, many languages operate in Crimea, the dominant of which are Russian, Crimean Tatar and Ukrainian; b) the demographic power of these languages (i.e. the number of speakers) is not the same. By the nature of the linguistic competence of the Crimean Tatars, 5 groups of communicants were distinguished: 1) symmetrical bilinguals; 2) asymmetric bilinguals; monolinguals; 4) multilinguals; and 5) multilingual carriers of slang. Statistical data on the implementation of the Crimean Tatar language in the field of education, the results of the linguistic and cultural monitoring. The spheres of functioning of the state Crimean Tatar language at the current stage of development of the Crimean society are indicated.
