Abstract
The article considers the features of the functioning of linguistic and ethnic conflicts in the post-Soviet space in online communication. The paper is aimed at discussing the structure of linguistic conflicts specifically naturally-occurring in such social networks as VK, Facebook and YouTube and to classify those conflicts. The data were analyzed to define conflictogenes and conflict triggers, forms, the dynamics and strategies the communicators use while arguing. The analysis of the language material shows that due to the nature of CMC linguistic conflicts acquire specific features and show that in virtual environment the resolution of such conflicts is almost impossible. Based on the data analysis the typology of linguistic conflicts was provided.
