LANGUAGE SPACE OF A POLYETHNIC REGION (ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE REPUBLIC OF DAGESTAN)

Abstract

The article examines the problems of linguistic development of a multiethnic region on the example of the Republic of Dagestan. The article analyzes the state of the issues of national education, as well as the problems of interaction between the Dagestanian and Russian languages. An increase in the linguistic self-awareness of an ethnic group is also considered as the most important factor in the preservation of native languages. The article presents a brief analysis of the linguistic situation in modern multiethnic Dagestan. The author describes the dynamics of general ethno-linguistic processes caused by migration, socio-economic, demographic and other factors, and reveales the regional features of the ethno-linguistic situation.
