Borrowings and plagiarism

Borrowing
Authors submitting a manuscript to the journal Sociolingvistika must ensure its originality and novelty. If an author (or authors) incorporates excerpts or quotations from the works of others, proper attribution must be provided through footnotes and full references in the bibliography accompanying the article.

Plagiarism
As part of the peer review process, the editorial board of Sociolingvistika systematically verifies submitted manuscripts using the Antiplagiat system. In cases where extensive plagiarism is detected, the editors take action in accordance with the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

To be considered for peer review, a manuscript must contain at least 75% original content.

Authors may conduct independent plagiarism checks as a preparatory measure prior to submission; however, such checks do not replace the journal’s official plagiarism screening.

Both plagiarism and self-plagiarism are considered unethical and unacceptable practices. The editorial board reserves the right to terminate collaboration with authors found to have engaged in plagiarism.
