In this issue, our journal turns to the theme of language policy in Russia and abroad. The articles examine the role of official and state languages in shaping linguistic identities, the influence of bilingualism on education and professional development, and the dynamics of language choice in multilingual societies. Historical perspectives are also presented, including an analysis of archival materials on pre-war Karelia, which illustrate how political priorities affected the written tradition and communicative capacity of minority languages. Other studies focus on the impact of globalization, democratization, and digitalization on Russian, as well as current language shifts among young speakers of Sakha.
